COVID-19 Guest Policy

For the continued safety of patients, physicians, staff and the community, New Horizons has implemented a ONE visitor/escort policy.

The Practice Manager will ensure social distancing is maintained, all visitors/escorts will complete the COVID-19 screening questions and have temperature taken and recorded. The visitor/escort will remain masked with a cloth, 3 ply surgical, or N95/K95 mask throughout their time in the office. No vented masks will be allowed. The Practice Manager will limit visitors/escorts if social distancing cannot be maintained.

We empathize with all patients who wish to have multiple guests at their appointment. We are closely monitoring the CDC guidelines and will adjust our policy when appropriate.

The latest update from SIH regarding masks (Applies to New Horizons as well):

Hello everyone

We just received an update from SIH regarding their visitor policies. Effective immediately (11/10/20) visitors under the age of 18 will not be permitted. If the patient is under 18 or their significant other is under 18 they will still be permitted to come in as a support person.

SIH will encourage all inpatient and ambulatory patients to wear a mask while in our facilities. This update is to further protect against the spread of the COVID-19 virus through people who may have COVID-19 and are not showing symptoms. Patients are asked to bring their own masks from home at the time of their visit. In cases where the patient does not have a mask to bring, one will be provided upon entry.

New Horizons Obstetrics & Gynecology is committed to keeping our patients, visitors, and staff healthy and safe. We are therefore taking the additional steps of screening individuals who enter our facility for the following symptoms:

Symptoms that may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus:Fever, Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell, Trouble breathing, Persistent pain or pressure in the chest, New confusion or inability to arouse, Bluish lips or face

If you have an appointment with our office and are experiencing any of these symptoms please call our office to reschedule immediately. You will also want to notify your Primary Care Provider of your symptoms. Please contact the SIH information hotline for questions or concerns regarding COVID-19 at 1-844-988-7800.

We are so excited to be integrating our Annual Well-Woman visits back into the office. Please see our most recent updates below: New Horizons continues to follow the CDC guidelines for the safety of our patients and staff. We have separated the chairs in our waiting room to practice social distancing and our nurses continue to work hard to get you back to an exam room quickly. We are also creating 6 ft space markers near our check-in and check-out areas. New Horizons Staff will all be required to wear a face mask in the office when social distancing from someone isn’t a viable option. We also require that our patients wear them as well.
